
Orange Debut at #10 in Preseason Poll

The Orange start the season ranked No. 10 in the CRCA Coaches Preseason Poll, announced March 11. Syracuse earned an 11th-place finish last season at the NCAA Championships after claiming the program's first ACC Championship in program history on May 18.Â
The Orange look to build upon last season's success, which was the first time Syracuse earned the automatic bid. 'Cuse has made four-straight NCAA Championships nad has raced in seven of the last eight championship regattas. Captain Aphrodite Giolekas was named as one of 12 student-athletes on the ACC Rowing Watch List, announced Feb. 26 while Ellie-Kate Hutchinson earned a nod on the CRCA Athlete to Watch List earlier this spring.Â
Six ACC teams are ranked in the preseason poll. Stanford debuts as No. 2 while Cal also ranks top-10 checking in at No. 8. Virginia (12th), Duke (16th) and Notre Dame (18th) also earned preseason rankings. Texas claimed the top spot in the poll with 2,969 points.Â
The team wraps up its annual spring training trip to Clemson, S.C., this week and will race Virginia in an exhibition on Saturday, March 15 before returning to Syracuse. The Orange officially begin their season March 22 for the B1G/ACC/Ivy Dual in Cherry Hill, N.J., where SU will race Michigan, Penn and Ohio State.Â
