
Women’s Rowing Well Represented on the International Stage

Ten current and incoming Syracuse women's rowers will the Orange on the international stage this summer. Ellie-Kate Hutchinson '26, Antonia Pichott '28, and Mackenzie Tuffin '26 are set to compete at the U23 World Rowing Championships this week in Poznan, Poland from July 23-27 wile Tia Lenihan '26 is representing Great Britain at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Duisberg, Germany from July 25-27. Lastly, Sarah Walsh '29 is racing for Ireland at the Home International Regatta on Saturday, July 26 at Dorney Lake in England.
At the U23 World Championships, Hutchinson will be in Great Britain's women's four without coxswain (4-) while Pichott (Chile) and Tuffin (New Zealand) will race in the same boat class (women's double sculls) for their respective national teams.
Earlier this summer, Syracuse had six athletes (Katie Breeze '28, Issy Kelland '28, Acorn Cassidy '28, Lenihan, Eva Barner '26, and Hannah Makmale '29) race at the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England.
Syracuse is coming off a season in which the Orange placed third in the ACC and 12th at the NCAA Championship as a team. The Syracuse Varsity Four earned eighth place, the highest finish for the four in program history.
