
Syracuse Completes the Season Sweep Over Delaware in Shutout Win

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team completed a dominant weekend sweep with a 4-0 shutout victory over Delaware Saturday afternoon at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
Syracuse (10-11-3, 6-6-2 AHA) completes the season sweep over Delaware after back-to-back victories to start 2026. The Orange controlled play from start to finish, scoring twice in each of the first two periods before shutting the door defensively in the third to secure the sweep. Ava Drabyk earns her first shutout of 2026 in goal with 16 saves.
Delaware (2-20-0, 1-13-0 AHA) put up a strong defensive effort highlighted by 20 blocked shots. The Blue Hens were unable to put one past Drabyk, while Mattie Robitzer recorded 37 saves in net for Delaware.
How It Happened
- Syracuse opened the scoring at 3:20 of the first period when Rylee McLeod scored unassisted for her fourth goal of the season on a breakaway following a penalty-kill.
- Charlotte Hallett extended the lead to 2-0 on a deflection from Sami Gendron's shot at 18:20 of the first, assisted by Makenna Williment as well.
- Jackson Kinsler made it 3-0 at 3:59 of the second period with an assist from Stella Costabile.
- Nea Tervonen capped the scoring at 11:07 of the second period, assisted by Costabile and Kinsler.
Behind the Numbers
- Drabyk's 16-save shutout was her third of the season.
- Costabile had a two-assist performance, extending her point streak.
- Kinsler recorded a goal and an assist for a two-point night.
- Syracuse dominated the shot count 41-16, including an 18-2 advantage in the first period.
