2/6/2026 6:31:00 PM | Women's Basketball
Syracuse (19-4, 9-3 ACC) welcomes #6 Louisville (21-4, 11-1 ACC) to the JMA Wireless Dome Sunday at noon in what promises to be a critical ACC battle. The Orange enter riding a three-game winning streak, most recently dominating Boston College 93-59 on the road while Louisville is fresh off its first ACC loss of the season Thursday night by the hands of Duke.
The backcourt is open at 11 a.m. as the Orange women's athletics teams celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with demonstrations and games. The first 500 fans in attendance will recieve a FREE Syracuse women's basketball t-shirt and there will be a Kathrine Switzer banner replica rally towel giveaway for the first 1000 fans. Stick around at halftime as Kathrine Switzer's 261 Boston Marathon bib will be hung in the JMA Wireless Dome with a special ceremony.
Fans unable to attend can watch live on The CW at 12 p.m.Â
The Cardinals hold a commanding 21-8 all-time edge in the series, including a 72-62 victory in Louisville last season on Jan. 16, 2025. However, Syracuse has found success at home against Louisville, posting a 6-6 record in the Salt City. The Orange will look to build on their most recent home victory against Louisville, a 73-72 home win that snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Cardinals.
Freshman sensation Uche Izoje continues to anchor Syracuse's attack, leading the ACC in blocks per game (2.6) while averaging 14.3 points and 9.4 rebounds. The six-time ACC Rookie of the Week has been nothing short of dominant, recording 10 double-doubles this season finding herself on the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. Graduate guard Dominique Darius provides veteran leadership at 13.0 points per game, while Laila Phelia (14.4 ppg) and Sophie Burrows (10.6 ppg) round out a balanced scoring attack.
Syracuse enters as the nation's ninth-best rebounding team (43.4 rpg) and leads the ACC in offensive rebounds (17.5 per game). The Orange also pace the conference in turnovers forced (20.1Â per game), creating havoc with their aggressive defensive scheme with 11.2 steals per game -- second-best in the league.
A victory would improve Syracuse to 10-3 in ACC play for just the second time under coach Felisha Legette-Jack and boost their NCAA Tournament resume. Currently projected as an 8-seed by ESPN's Charlie Creme, the Orange have climbed to No. 36 in the NET rankings—their highest mark of the season.
