Syracuse Advances to Face Washington in the Quarterfinals at Henley Royal Regatta

Syracuse men's rowing defeated Oxford Brookes University 'E' by one and three-quarter lengths in the second round of the Temple Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames on Thursday evening and will now face the University of Washington on Friday. Washington advanced to the quarterfinals with wins over Radley College in the first round and K.S.R.V. Njord in the second round.
"The guys put together another solid piece this afternoon," Syracuse Associate Head Coach Connor Walters said. "We managed to make progress on the things we identified from yesterday. I give a lot of credit to our guys for how maturely they have handled racing so far this week. We are looking forward to tomorrow's quarterfinal race against Washington."
The Orange took an early lead on Oxford Brookes 'E' in their second round race, holding on to cruise into a victory of almost two lengths. Now the Orange and Huskies, who represent two of the top college programs in the USA will face off with a chance to advance to Saturday's semifinals.Â
Friday's quarterfinal round is set for 4:20 p.m. GMT (11:20 a.m. EDT) and can be streamed on YouTube via the Henley Royal Regatta channel.Â
