How is the team’s confidence level going into the tournament?
“I think our confidence level is there. We fought hard in the NC State game, we just came up short. Everyone on the team knows what we’re facing going into the tournament. You’re guaranteed one game and you have to fight to get that extra game so you want to fight each game.”
What are your thoughts going into the NCAA tournament after losing early in the ACC Tournament?
“We’re right where we should be, the No. 3 seed. We had a great year this year. We had a little losing streak toward the end of the season but overall this season was a success, as far as the regular season. Going into the tournament you’ve got to just keep fighting and make that one last push."
Have you talked to your younger teammates about what lies ahead?
“You have conversations within the team but Tyler Ennis, even being a freshman, he knows what’s at stake. He’s not really a freshman mentally. He wants to win as badly as anyone on the team. That’s the thing about our team, everyone wants to win. That’s going to help us in the long run.”
Do you think there will be many Syracuse fans in Buffalo?
“To have a big fan base supporting you at the game is definitely exciting. We just have to go out there and play and give the fans something to cheer for.”
Has the team's defense been the key in wins lately?
“Our offense isn’t going to be there every night and our defense is our advantage. If we play the defense we’re capable of playing I think we can make another Final Four run and build from there.”
How does it feel knowing this is your last run at an NCAA Tournament title?
“Every year I go into the tournament I don’t want to lose and every game hurts when you do lose. It’s the same feeling this go-around knowing your season could be over with one loss and you just try and do your best to help your team not lose.”
How can the NCAA Tournament experience you and your teammates have help you this year?
“It helps us a lot having experience. Guys have been on the big stage before. They know how to conduct and handle themselves. There’s not going to be any surprises.”
