Freshman Year: His first double-digit scoring night came against FLORIDA ATLANTIC when he poured in 10 markers...He had a season-high four steals, and had four assists and four rebounds in that contest...In Syracuse’s encounter with ALBANY, Williams tallied 13 points...Williams played a key role in SU’s victory at PITTSBURGH, coming off the bench to score a career-best 23 points...He also had season highs for field goals made (8) and attempted (13), and three-point field goals made (5) and attempted (8)...Williams rebounded from a scoreless outing at ST. JOHN’S by tallying 15 versus VILLANOVA... In the win against GEORGETOWN he contributed a career-high seven assists and nine points...Williams was held without a shot for just the third time during the season when Syracuse lost at CONNECTICUT...He bounced back with 11 points in the BIG EAST Tournament loss to GEORGETOWN.
High School: He was coached by Jerome Smart at Paterson Catholic High School...He ranked second in Paterson Catholic career scoring, trailing only former Villanova standout Tim Thomas...He average 28.2 points-per-game as a senior and helped the Cougars to a 16-10 record in New Jersey’s Class B parochial league... Williams served as team captain for two seasons...He was an All-American, all-state and team MVP pick following his junior and senior seasons...He tallied 40 points in the 38th annual Schoolboy Classic in Connecticut during the spring, just five markers shy of the record set by Jeff Ruland...Williams was named the game’s MVP after helping the New Jersey All-Stars to a 108-107 overtime triumph against the Connecticut All-Stars...He also played in the Magic Johnson Roundball Classic.
