Senior Year: Forth was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team...He was a second-team selection in balloting by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)...He also earned the BIG EAST Conference/Aeropostale Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award at the league's annual banquet...For the fourth time in as many years, Forth was honored by the Bristol-Myers Squibb company in Syracuse...The complany annually awards a $10,000 academic scholarship to the Syracuse University Science Teaching Department...The scholarship was named in honor of Forth...It recognizes his outstanding academic accomplishments and his consistent contribution to great team chemistry in the classroom and on the court...Forth had his jersey (#00) retired at Columbia High School and become the first player so honored at the school...He posted a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) in an SU victory against GEORGETOWN...Forth had a season-high 14 points against RICE...His best rebound effort of the campaign was an 11 board performance at NOTRE DAME...He had 10 rebounds in back-to-back games against BIG EAST rivals VILLANOVA and PITTSBURGH.
Junior Year: He was named third-team Academic All-America by the CoSIDA…Forth was one of 15 Division I players named to the Academic All-America team…He ranked fifth in the BIG EAST in blocked-shot average…Syracuse finished third in the Division I ranks in blocked-shot average…He produced double-doubles in two of SU’s last five games, including his first career double-double against CONNECTICUT (14 points, 13 rebounds)…Forth played a career-high 35 minutes versus the HUSKIES…He had 10 points and 12 rebounds versus MARYLAND in the NCAA Tournament…His 12 points and nine boards versus RUTGERS were critical in a two-point SU triumph…Forth had a career-high 18 points at MISSOURI…He connected on 7-of-10 shots from the floor and all four of his free throws against the TIGERS…He contributed 11 boards and six blocks when Syracuse defeated ST. Sophomore Year: Forth was named to the CoSIDA All-Academic District I team…Forth posted a season-high 11 points and set a career-high with four assists in SU’s defeat of MISSOURI…He grabbed a season-high eight rebounds three times – against UNC GREENSBORO, ALBANY and GEORGETOWN in the BIG EAST Tournament…Forth notched at least four rebounds 12 times…He posted a season-high four blocks versus CANISIUS and UNC GREENSBORO…Forth was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall and Spring semesters at SU…He was a BIGEASTAcademic All-Star for the second year…Forth made his seventh appearance in the Empire State Games.
Freshman Year: Forth started all 36 games, one of three players with that distinction…He was also first on the team in blocks (65), fourth in rebounds (162) and fifth in assists (41)…Forth had three-or-more blocks in a game 13 times…He was the first SU freshman to start a season-opener since 1997…He was the first rookie to start game one at center since Otis Hill in 1993-94…Forth had seven rejections, nine points and seven rebounds against COLGATE…Forth bettered that effort with nine boards at ALBANY…He opened conference play with nine points and nine boards versus RUTGERS…Forth’s top season scoring output was 12 points, a total he reached in BIG EAST encounters with GEORGETOWN and SETON HALL…He turned in double-doubles against GEORGETOWN (12 points, 10 rebounds) and versus VILLANOVA in the BIG EAST Tournament (11 points, 10 rebounds)…Forth was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall and Spring semesters at SU…Forth played for the bronze-medal winning Adirondack team in the 2002 Empire State Games contested in SU’s Carrier Dome…In August 2002 Forth attended the Pete Newell Camp in Honolulu…The program, recognized as the premier camp for big men, is run by the former California coach.
High School: He played for Coach Jim Obermayer at Columbia High School…Forth was a team captain as a junior and senior…He established school records for career scoring, rebounding and blocked shots…Forth averaged 19.2 points, 14.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks as a senior…Columbia finished the year 20-4, including a loss to Schenectady, the eventual Class A state champion, in the Section 2 finals…Forth earned Suburban Council MVP honors twice and was a league all-star four times…He was a teammate of Billy Edelin’s on the U.S. National 18-and-under squad that competed at the world championship in France…Forth had six points and seven rebounds in the final, won by the U.S…He also competed in the Nike Derby Festival and the Baltimore-Charm City Challenge…Forth tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds in the Baltimore-Charm City Challenge.
