Peter Magee
brings four years of collegiate rowing experience to the Syracuse program. Magee, in his first year as a graduate assistant with the Orange, competed as a member of the George Washington crew team for four years. Magee will assist the Syracuse coaches with facility maintenance and equipment in addition to coaching on the water.A captain for the Colonials in 2007-08, Magee led George Washington to a 20th-place showing at last year’s IRA National Championship. He was also active in the Colonials’ athletic department out of the water, working as a member of the Smith Center event staff and representing the crew team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for two years.
Magee was a member of the LaSalle College High School crew team and earned the team’s David T. Deihl Leadership Award as a senior in 2004. He was a Stotesbury Cup champion in 2003 and rowed for the Penn AC Crew in the summers of 2002, 2006 and 2007.
Magee graduated from George Washington in May 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in secondary science education.
