Orange Tennis Loses, 4-3, To Miami (OH)

BOCA RATON, FLA. — The Syracuse University women's tennis team lost, 4-3, to Miami University (OH). Syracuse is 5-7 on the season, while the Redhawks improve to 7-5.
The Orangewomen won three singles matches against Miami. Junior Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia/School #528) ended a three-match losing streak in singles play. At No. 1 singles Kabanova defeated Kadija Richards 6-4, 6-4.
Sophomore Daniela Kaluskova (Prague, Czech/Gym Budjovicka) posted a win at No. 2 singles. Kaluskova defeated Megan Zimpfer 7-5, 6-4. At. No 6 singles sophomore Marion Charlier (Rabat Morocco/Rabat American School) defeated Nancy Wiegand 7-5, 6-2. SU's doubles team of Kaluskova and freshman Kristine Bech Holte (Oslo, Norway/Fagerborg vgs.) also posted a win. The Orange duo defeated Zimpfer and Brooke Peyton 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
SU has lost four consecutive matches. The Orangewomen play Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Wednesday, March 13. The match starts at 9 a.m.
