SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University men's crew team opened its spring season with a loss to Brown on Saturday, March 23, on Onondaga Lake.
SU's varsity eight finished 5.3 seconds behind Brown. The Orange crossed the finish line in 5:38.6. The varsity eight race was the closest contested race of the day.
Both teams raced in 27 degree weather with a 10-15 mph tailwind as the snow stopped just before racing.
The Orangemen race Boston University at home on Onondaga Lake on March 30.
