SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University men's crew team races at Rutgers for the Ten Eyck Cup on the Raritan River on Saturday, April 13. The Orangemen will be racing for their sixth consecutive Ten Eyck Trophy.
The stroke for the varsity eight is senior Andy Berster (Sarasota, FL/Riverview HS). Senior Jason Bourcier (Greenland, NH/Portmouth HS) is in the bow seat and senior Eric Miller (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) is the coxswain. The Orangemen's last race was March 30 at home against Brown.
Named after Ned Hanlon Ten Eyck, the son of former SU coach James A. Ten Eyck, the Ten Eyck trophy is awarded to the winner of the Syracuse-Rutgers race each year. Ned coached at Rutgers and Syracuse and was also a national champion sculler. Since 1987, the first Ten Eyck Cup race, the Orangemen have won 10 of the trophies. The Orangemen's varsity eight defeated Rutgers last season.
