Cross Country Ranks Ninth Among All-Academic Teams

The NCAA released a list of All-Academic Cross Country teams today, and Syracuse’s cumulative team average of 3.56 ranks ninth among Division I teams. Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., headed the list with a 3.79 team GPA.
By finishing with a cumulative GPA above 3.25, Syracuse was awarded “All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction” honors. The team was also the highest-ranked BIG EAST squad.
Twenty-nine track and field athletes were named to the SU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall semester after earning a 3.0 GPA or better. Thirteen of those student-athletes earned at least a 3.4.
The SU cross country season begins with the Blue Devil Invitational at Central Connecticut State on September 7.
