The Orangewomen started the night by winning the doubles point. Seniors Masha Kabanova and Shervin Saedinia defeated Lauren Erikson and Sheila Rao, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles. Colgate won the No. 3 doubles match, with Lindsey Suffredini and Jamie Maldow downing junior Daniela Kaluskova and Leong, 8-4. Sophomores Trine Lise Juliussen and Kristine Bech Holte clinched the point for SU with their 8-6 decision against Emily Wenink and Marissa Alikpala at No. 2 doubles.
Holte won her No. 5 singles match against Suffredini, 6-0, 6-2, and Juliussen won her match at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-2, against Sheila Rao, before Leong earned SU's winning point in her match. Kaluskova finished her No. 2 match a few minutes later with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Erikson.
Saedinia took her No. 3 opponent to a tie-breaker. Colgate's Maldow won the first set, 6-4, before Saedinia came back to win the second, 6-3. Saedinia then won the tie-breaker, 10-7. Kabanova wasn't as fortunate in her No. 1 singles match against Alikpala. She lost the tie-breaker, 10-5, after splitting the sets, 6-3, 6-7.
