The Black Knights fought SU hard in every match, giving up two doubles wins by scores of 8-6. In singles, the Patriot League club sent two matches to three sets, and forces a tie-breaker in the first set of the No. 1 singles match.
With her two wins, senior Masha Kabanova took sole possession of fifth place on SU's career wins list, the Century Club. She owns 151 victories in her four-year career, and needs one more win to move into a tie for fourth place with Stephanie Rice (1983-87). Classmate Shervin Saedinia owns 142 wins and sits in seventh on the Century Club ledger, seven wins behind Michelle Neveklovska (1997-01).
The match concludes Syracuse's regular-season slate, and the Orangewomen (10-7, 5-2 BIG EAST) will next compete at the BIG EAST Championships in Coral Gables, Fla., April 25-27.
