
Syracuse Men and Women Place Second at the Blue Devil Invitational

The Orangemen tied Holy Cross with 52 points, but the Crusaders’ sixth finisher, Randy Brodeur, placed 19th, two spots ahead of SU’s sixth runner, Joey Ziminsky (21st) to earn the championship. The Orangewomen took second with 76 points, 57 points behind Connecticut. The Huskies placed six runners in the top 10.
The Orangemen were paced by freshman David Wishart, who placed fourth with a time of 27:00.7 on the 5K course. Sophomore John Graham also finished in the top 10 for SU, placing ninth with a time of 27.46.9. Senior Nathan Rath posted a time of 28:00.7, good for 11th-place and freshman Matt Lawson completed the course in 28:10 to claim 12th.
Junior Christine Ramsey ran a personal-best 18:45.9 and finished fifth on women’s side. Freshman Candace Ince finished with a time of 19:48.7 in her first collegiate competition to earn 13th. Freshman Amanda Hicks and senior Lauren Rich placed 16th and 17th place respectively, with times of 19:51.4 and 19:51.9.
Syracuse will compete at Binghamton on Saturday, Sept. 13th.
