Warrick Named to The Sporting News' First -Half All-America Team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior forward Hakim Warrick was named to the Sporting News’ first-half All-America Team that was unveiled on January 26.
Warrick is also one of the top 30 candidates for this year’s Wooden Award, which is presented to college basketball’s player of the year. He currently leads Syracuse in scoring and rebounding, averaging 19.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He has recorded double-doubles in seven games this season, including in five of the last six.
Warrick is joined on the team by Emeka Okafor of Connecticut, Andre Emmett of Texas Tech, Luke Jackson of Oregon and Jameer Nelson of St. Joseph’s.
The Sporting News’ first-half All-America team was selected by the publication’s writers based on performance during the first half of the 2003-04 campaign
