SYRACUSE, NY -- #7/8 Syracuse (10-1) dodged a Dome-record 15 three-point baskets by Cornell and defeated the Big Red, 82-69. The game marked the 113th meeting between the two programs on the hardwood.

Senior forward Hakim Warrick tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds, his sixth double-double of the campaign, to pace the Orange. Classmate Josh Pace added 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. Sophomore forward Terrence Roberts added 16 points, all in the second half.

Cornell's Cody Toppert led all scorers with 23 points, including seven three-point baskets. Cornell's 15 three-pointers set a school record as well as the Carrier Dome standard. The Big Red converted 15-of-24 from behind the arc (.625). The 15 threes tied the most yielded by an SU squad, equaling the tally Southern Illinois hit in a 1995 NCAA Tournament game.

With only a halftime advantage of one, 36-35, SU used a 9-2 run in the opening 5:32 of the second half, highlighted by three dunks from Warrick, to pull away from the Big Red.

SU took an early 8-4 advantage before Cornell went on a 15-5 run over 7:45 to take the lead by six at the 9:55 mark in the first half, the largest margin the Big Red would lead by all game. Led by Warrick dunks to start and finish a 13-10 run for the Orange, SU tied the game at 21 with 8:52 to play in the opening half. SU's 9-3 run to end the first stanza, including a jumper at the buzzer by sophomore Louie McCroskey, gave the Orange the halftime advantage.

Freshman Dayshawn Wright scored a season-high five points in four minutes of action and freshman Josh Wright had a season-high two steals.

SU hosts Rice on Wednesday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
