
Orangewomen Tennis Team Finishes Spring Break Trip with 4-3 Loss to American

Sophomore Wei-Ming Leong and freshmen Ashley Lipton and Kendyl Severino earned SU's three points by winning their singles matches. Leong defeated Ashley Retlev, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4. Lipton won, 6-2, 6-4, against Katarina Kollarova at No. 2 singles. Severino won the first singles match in dual competition of her career, 6-3, 6-3, against Kirsten Wegel at No. 6.
In doubles, Leong teamed with senior Trine Lise Juliussen to defeat Kristina Georgieva and Kollarova, 9-8(5) at No. 1. Seniors Marion Charlier and Jessica Schlosser lost to Julia Colarusso and Alexsandra Zerkalova, 8-6. Severino and Lipton lost to Retlev and Wegel, 8-5, at No. 3.
The Orangewomen host Binghamton on Friday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m., at Drumlins Tennis Center.
