SU Captures Two Titles at the Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, CONN. – Freshman Victoria Vaynberg made her collegiate tournament debut one to be remembered as she captured the Flight B singles title at the Yale Invitational on Sunday. Vaynberg defeated Yale’s Rashmee Patil, 6-3, 6-3.
The SU doubles team of sophomore Katie Bramante and junior Wei-Ming Leong won the Flight B doubles title. Bramante and Leong had to defeat Yale’s Reshmi Srinath and Juliette Vartikar, 8-5, to earn the title.
In Flight A doubles, freshmen Vaynberg and Catherine Zawadzki were defeated on the semifinal, 9-7, by Yale's Aimee Kim and Rashmee Patil.
The Orange next travels to the Maryland Invitational, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 24-26.
