ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse cross country teams competed at the Reif Memorial hosted by Cornell on Friday. No team scores were kept.
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse cross country teams competed at the Reif Memorial hosted by Cornell on Friday. No team scores were kept.
Syracuse claimed four of the top five spots in the women’s 5k run. Senior Amanda Hicks won the meet, finishing in a time of 18:20. Freshman Stefanie Slekis finished closely behind Hicks in 18:29. Freshman Lynne Mundy and junior Meghan Rowcliffe finished fourth and fifth, respectively, for the Orange. Mundy recorded a time of 18:34 and Rowcliffe finished in 18:51.
On the men’s side, senior Chris McDonald led SU with a 10th place finish in the five mile run. McDonald finished with a time of 27:43. Sophomore Robert Cary placed 15th, recording a time of 28:02 while junior Ben Torvik and senior Geoff Nelson finished 18th and 19th, respectively.
Up next for the Orange is the BIG EAST Championship. The championship meet will take place in Boston, Mass. on Friday, October 27.
