“We have been working on penalty corners every practice and we executed that corner perfectly,” said Nantulya. “It was a great push out from Maggie (Befort), a great stick stop by (Heather) Doran, everybody ran in and Brittany (Angellella) hit across and I just touched the ball.”
First-year Orange head coach Ange Bradley improves to 2-0 as well. Syracuse allowed only four shots and Colgate scored four times on 12 shots yesterday.
Junior goalkeeper Heather Hess only saw two shots on goal, but stopped both, the sixth shutout of her career. Syracuse defense was led by back Leigh Fawcett, a graduate student from Scotland.
“She is an outstanding experienced international player,” said Bradley. “She is a phenomenal defender.”
