Women's Basketball Opens Carrier Dome Schedule with Penn State

Syracuse returns home and opens its 2007-08 Carrier Dome schedule with Big Ten foe Penn State. The Nittany Lions used a 26-11 run to begin the second half and defeated Syracuse 71-46 in last season’s meeting. SU is 1-16 all-time against PSU.

Penn State finished the 2006-07 season 15-16 overall and 7-9 in Big Ten play before being knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament by Ohio State in the second round. The Nittany Lions lost Amanda Brown, a 6-foot-4-inch forward who averaged 14.2 points per games and 10.2 rebounds per game, but return leading scorer sophomore Tyra Grant (14.5 ppg.).

The Orange has six games remaining on their non-conference schedule, five to be played at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse has announced games against Coppin State (Nov. 17), North Carolina (Nov. 18), Lehigh (Nov. 25), Colgate (Nov. 28), Louisiana Monroe (Dec. 1) amd Alabama State (Dec. 2).
