SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jillian Drouin, senior Ramon Sosa and graduate Sheron Mark will represent the Orange at the 2008 Division I NCAA Indoor Championship on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at the University of Arkansas. A total of 568 student-athletes will compete at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jillian Drouin, senior Ramon Sosa and graduate Sheron Mark will represent the Orange at the 2008 Division I NCAA Indoor Championship on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at the University of Arkansas. A total of 568 student-athletes will compete at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
The championship begins Friday at 9:45 a.m. with the men’s heptathlon. Saturday’s competition commences at 11:00 a.m. with the 60m hurdles for the men’s heptathlon. Schedules, live results and live video will be provided via www.ladybacks.com. Men and women’s qualifying sheets are posted above.
Drouin, named the BIG EAST Female Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Year after a first-place and record-setting performance in the pentathlon at the indoor championship, will compete in the high jump. She captured the multi-event conference crown in New York, N.Y. with a Syracuse school record and Armory Open standard of 4,099 points.
Drouin matched the Orange’s high jump program best with a height of 1.82m, finishing first at the ECAC Championship on March 8. Additionally, she is an all-conference performer in the high jump, placing second at the BIG EAST Championship with a tally of 1.80m.
Sosa will look to improve upon his school-record time of 7.78 seconds in the 60m hurdles at the NCAA Championship. He owns two first-place finishes this season, including the top times at the Penn State National Open (7.82) and in the college division at the nationally-acclaimed Millrose Games (7.84). Sosa’s program-best performance earned all-conference honors at the BIG EAST Championship and eclipsed Adrian Woodley’s time of 7.81 in 1999.
