3/24/2008 9:21:16 AM | Men's Rowing
Having a vessel named for your is the highest honor in the sport of men’s rowing. Former rower and coach Robert M. Hick will receive that honor when the Syracuse men’s rowing team names a new racing shell after him in a christening ceremony on Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. at the Ten Eyck Boathouse on Onondaga Lake. The new Empacher shell will then hit the waters of Onondaga Lake and the Seneca River for the first time under the supervision of Mr. Hick and his two daughters
“The ‘Robert M. Hick ‘54’ is the generous gift of Bob Hick who graduated from the SUNY school of Environmental Science and Forestry in 1954,” head coach Dave Reishman said.
The Orange men’s crew squad begins the spring season at the San Diego Crew Classic on April 5-6.
