Rowing Opens 2009 Fall Season with Second-Place Showing

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's rowing team opened the 2009 fall season with a second-place finish at the Poughkeepsie Regatta at Longview Park. The Orange (25:05.73) finished 44 seconds behind Cornell (24:39.5) and a more than a minute ahead of third-place finisher Pennsylvania (26:18.23).
The Hudson River Rowing Association (HRRA) ran the regatta. The race was run on the old IRA racecourse starting roughly at the Culinary Institute of America and finishing at the HRRA boathouse (2.3 miles).
The Orange returns to the water at Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J. on Sun., Oct. 25.
