SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The non-conference schedule for the #10/9 Orange (5-0) rolls on with a matchup against Columbia (2-1) at the Carrier Dome on Friday, Nov. 27. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the contest is Syracuse's second straight against an Ivy League opponent. The Orange defeated Ancient Eight member Cornell, 88-73, on Tuesday.

The matchup will be televised live in the Syracuse area on Time Warner Sports. Fans can also listen to the action live via the Syracuse ISP Radio Network and its flagship TK 99 (99.5 FM). The audio stream of the radio broadcast will be available on SUathletics.com as part of Orange All Access.
ABOUT THE ORANGE
The Orange made the third-largest jump in the history of the Associated Press poll on Monday, going from unranked to No. 10. Syracuse validated the recognition by extending its winning streak to five with a 15-point win against a veteran Cornell team the following day. It was the 804th career win for head coach Jim Boeheim, tying him with Eddie Sutton for seventh on the Division I all-time wins list.
Freshman point guard Brandon Triche led the team with a career-best 21 points as the Orange pulled away in the second versus the Big Red. Sophomore Kris Joseph tied his career-high with 13 points in 31 minutes off the bench and was 9-for-10 (.900) from the free-throw line.
Joseph led a season-best Orange effort at the charity stripe. Syracuse was 23-for-28 (.821) and outscored the Big Red 23-8 from the line in the contest.
Tuesday's game was close at the half with the Orange holding a modest 42-36 advantage against its Central New York neighbor. However, much like the North Carolina game, Syracuse came out of the locker room like gangbusters and outscored the Big Red, 15-5, in the first seven minutes of the second half to gain control of the contest.
Syracuse still owns the top scoring offense in the BIG EAST at 89.0 points per game and has won its five games by an average of 25 points.
RAUTINS CLIMBING 3-POINT FIELD GOALS LIST
Senior Andy Rautins tallied 18 points against Cornell Tuesday, including five 3-pointers. With the performance, Rautins surpassed 200 career treys and now ranks fifth on SU's all-time list with 201 3-point field goals. He moved in front of Lawrence Moten who hit 197 threes from 1991-95.
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
Columbia enters Friday's affair with a 2-1 record. The Lions have already tasted BIG EAST competition, opening the year with a 59-53 road loss to DePaul on Nov. 17. Since then, Columbia has won its last two outings, including a come-from-behind win on Tuesday against Bucknell. The Lions ended the game on a 30-8 run to produce a 73-59 triumph versus the Bison.
Sophomore guard Noruwa Agho is the team's top offensive threat. He is averaging a squad-best 20.0 points per game and is shooting 61.3 percent (19-31) from the floor, including 14-of-18 (.778) from behind the 3-point arc. He tallied a game-high 23 points in the Bucknell win.
Junior forward Brian Grimes (11.0 ppg) and senior guard Patrick Foley (10.7 ppg) are also in double figures for the Lions. Grimes is the team's top rebounder at 10.3 per game.
Columbia head coach Joe Jones is in his seventh season with the Lions after taking over the program in 2003-04. In the last three years, Jones has guided Columbia to 21 Ivy League wins, the most during any three-year span in team history. Last season, Columbia finished with an overall record of 12-16 and was 7-7 in the Ivy League.
Jones, who attended SUNY Oswego, holds a career coaching record of 77-92. He graduated from Oswego in 1987 and was a four-year basketball letterwinner.
THE SERIES
Syracuse is 10-3 all-time against the Lions and has won the last five series meetings, including a 61-47 victory on Dec. 28, 2000 in the most recent pairing. The last time Columbia defeated the Orange was in 1956 (71-70).
