
Kee and Loncarica Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse University field hockey freshman back Amy Kee and sophomore midfielder Martina Loncarica were both named to the BIG EAST honor role for their performances at No. 16 Louisville and against RV Michigan last weekend. It is Kee's third honor of the season, as she was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on September 14 and to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Aug. 31. It is Loncarica's first honor of the year.
Kee recorded two goals in Syracuse's two victories last weekend. The freshman scored the game-winning goal in SU's 2-1 overtime win against Michigan on Sunday. She also scored Syracuse's first goal in its 3-2 victory at Louisville on Saturday in the BIG EAST opener for both teams.
The freshman is tied for second in the BIG EAST in assists (6), tied for third in assists per game (0.75), tied for second in game-winning goals (2), tied for third in defensive saves (1), tied for fourth in shots (30), seventh in shots per game (3.75), tied for eighth in points (12), and 10th in points per game (1.50).
Loncarica registered one goal and one assist in Syracuse's two victories last weekend. The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in 3-2 victory at Louisville. She also provided the assists on the game-winning goal in SU's 2-1 overtime win against Michigan on Sunday.
The sophomore is tied for fifth in the BIG EAST in assists (5) and seventh in assists per game (0.62).
SU opens a six game homestand on Sept. 26 when Providence comes to town. The Orange also host Columbia on Sept. 27.
