SU Championship Teams Earn Recognition

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Two Syracuse University athletics teams will be featured on Inside the BIG EAST for their recent accomplishments. The Orange field hockey team claimed its third consecutive BIG EAST Championship after going a perfect 6-0 in conference play. SU's men's cross country squad won its second consecutive BIG EAST title, while the women tied a program-best third place finish from 2009.
Both teams have advanced to the next level and will look to continue their success against some of the nation's top competition. No. 1 seed SU field hockey will play No. 4 seed Rutgers in the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship Semifinals at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 6 in Storrs, Conn. The men and women's harriers will participate in the NCAA Northeast Regional meet on November 13 in Madison, Conn. Both the men and women have their eye on repeating as regional champions.
