
Orange Sweeps Niagara

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – Syracuse (7-2, 2-0) remained undefeated against in-state foes with a 7-0 sweep of Niagara (0-6) on Friday night at the Sportsplex.
Freshman No. 111 CC Sardinha earned her first career victory at the top singles spot, defeating Niagara's Hilary Hansen in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Sardinha also combined with junior team co-captain Simone Kalhorn in doubles play to earn a victory at the No. 2 spot.
Sophomore Emily Harman dominated her opponent Raquel Solis at the No. 2 singles spot with a two-set shutout, 6-0, 6-0. Harman also teamed with senior Chelsea Jones in double play to earn a shutout victory, 8-0, at the top spot.
Senior transfer Eleanor Peters also won her singles match in a two-set shutout, defeating Emma Cunnington in the No. 3 slot. Sophomore Alessondra Parra defeated challenger Brittany Walters at No. 4 singles while Kalhorn earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 5, cementing the victory for the Orange.
Syracuse looks to continue its New York win streak when it visits Buffalo on Saturday, February 27 at 11 a.m.
