SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse tennis team heads on the road this weekend and is looking to make program history by pushing their wins in a single season record to 17. Their road swing includes two BIG EAST foes, conference rival Georgetown on Friday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. and then Seton Hall on Saturday, April 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
The Orange is currently 16-2 and 5-0 in the BIG EAST. The 16 wins ties a program record for wins in a season, a feat that has been previously done in 1992-93, 1999-00 and 2008-09.
Syracuse comes into this weekend's matches on a roll, winning their last 10 matches and not losing a match since February, when they lost to a ranked Princeton squad.
The team has dominated its BIG EAST foes all season, not only staying perfect in the wins column, but also outscoring their conference opponents an impressive 32-3 in dual matches.
This weekend's matches come after the Orange dominated Army in a rescheduled match last Wednesday at the Drumlins Tennis Center. The Orange beat the Black Knights, 6-1, and kept their win streak alive.
After this weekend's conference games, the Orange will return home on Saturday, April 10th for their final regular season match against Temple. The match will take place at Drumlins Tennis Center and will begin at 10 a.m.
