Syracuse Sixth in National Poll

SYRACUSE – The Syracuse Orange field hockey squad received a No. 6 ranking in the first womensfieldhockey.com poll of the year. Syracuse, which is also ranked sixth in the 2010 Kookaburra / NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, is 4-2 on the season.
The Orange is led by freshman midfielder Leonie Geyer's team-best four assists and team-high tying eight points. Junior forward Heather Susek has also recorded a team-best eight points off a team-high tying three goals and two assists.
Syracuse travels to the Garden State for a pair of contests this weekend. The Orange opens BIG EAST Conference play at rv Rutgers (1-5, 0-0) on Saturday, September 18 at 1 p.m. Syracuse concludes the weekend at regional rival No. 4 Princeton (3-0) on Sunday, September 19 at 1 p.m.
