Three Honored at BIG EAST Award Ceremony

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Volleyball's Sam Hinz garnered First Team All-BIG EAST honors, while Noemie Lefebvre and Lindsay McCabe were awarded second team at the BIG EAST award banquet Thursday night on the eve of the conference tournament.
Hinz, a junior, led the BIGEAST in all blocking categories: total blocks (166), block assists (140), solo blocks (26) and blocks per set (1.47). She set the single-season record for block assists in a season with 140. Hinz also tallied 205 kills.
Lefebvre was awarded second team honors for the second-consecutive year. Lefebvre led the team in kills during the regular season with 300, and also tallied the second most digs with 371. She will graduate with the fourth most digs in program history.
McCabe led the team in hitting percentage at .285 and hit a .317 in conference matches. The sophomore had the third most kills on the team with 252 and recorded the second most blocks in conference with 130.
SU plays Friday morning in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament against Notre Dame. First serve is set for 11 a.m. EST. Fans can watch a free live web cast of the game and can also follow live stats.
