SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Margot Scharfe of women's ice hockey and Mike Dietrick of men's crew are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for Nov. 28, 2011.
Scharfe is a sophomore advertising major hailing from Toronto, Ontario. She was named to the Syracuse University Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the fall of 2010.
On the ice, Scharfe has tallied four goals and three assists this season. In her career, the forward has racked up 11 goals and 11 assists through a season and a half with the Orange.
Dietrick, a senior, is earning a dual major in finance and supply chain management. He has been on the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester at Syracuse.
The Orchard Park, N.Y. native has had a very successful career for the Orange, which includes sitting in the three seat for every varsity eight during the 2009-10 season.
The ice hockey team is home this weekend for a series with Lindenwood University at Tennity Ice Pavilion. Friday's contest is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's game is at 2:00 p.m.
