
Both Hoffmann and Wentz major in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprise

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Heather Wentz of the women's lacrosse team and junior Griffin Hoffmann of the men's basketball team are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for Dec. 19, 2011.
A native of West Chester, Pa., Wentz is pursuing a degree in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprise from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Wentz has been an all-star in the classroom, earning BIG EAST All-Academic Team three-consecutive years, while making the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester of her career.
The midfielder tallied two goals in nine appearances as a junior, including recording her first career goal against Cincinnati. She registered her second goal in the regular season finale against Villanova.
Hoffmann is also majoring in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprise at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. He has been a member of the Syracuse University Athletic Director's Honor Roll twice in four semesters.
Hoffmann has appeared in five games this season for the Orange and matched his career-high of three points against Colgate on Nov. 19th. He had three points last season against Morgan State as well.
Wentz and the women's lacrosse team kicks off the 2012 campaign on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Carrier Dome against Boston College. Hoffmann and the top-ranked Orange are in action twice this week with home games against Bucknell on Tuesday night and against Tulane on Thursday night.
