Lefebvre Selected to Canadian National Team for World University Games

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Outside hitter Noemie Lefebvre of the Syracuse University volleyball team has been selected to the Canadian National B Team and will participate in the upcoming World University Games in Shenzhen, China.
Lefebvre is one of 17 student-athletes chosen to the Canadian roster and will forego the majority of preseason as she plays in China from August 12-23. The senior co-captain will be back in time for the regular-season opener on August 26th.
Organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the World Universiade is a multi-sport event held every two years that brings student-athletes from all around the world together for a week and a half long competition. This is the 26th Summer Universiade.
A 2010 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, Lefebvre is 46 digs and 360 kills away from becoming just the sixth player in SU history to register 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills.
The Orange opens its 2011 campaign at home as Syracuse hosts the Big Orange Tournament August 26-27. Other teams in the field include Sacred Heart, Siena and Youngstown State.
