Lefebvre Named Preseason All-BIG EAST

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior outside hitter Noemie Lefebvre of the Syracuse University volleyball team has been named to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team.

A Second Team All-BIG EAST selection a year ago, Lefebvre led the Orange in both kills and digs in 2010. She is currently competing with Team Canada at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China.

The BIG EAST also released its preseason coaches' poll which has Syracuse slated to finish ninth in conference. Coming off a ninth place league finish last year, the Orange returns four starters from a season ago. SU also added nine freshmen to the roster.

Louisville received 11 first-place votes as the Cardinals were selected as favorites to win the BIG EAST. Notre Dame was picked second and defending champion Cincinnati was third.

SU opens the season on August 26th when the Orange hosts Sacred Heart at the Big Orange Tournament. Syracuse begins BIG EAST action on Oct. 23rd at home against South Florida.
