Final Stats
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Led by seven kills from Erin Little and six kills apiece from Sam Clarey and Sam Hinz, the blue team defeated the orange team (25-20, 25-21) on Saturday afternoon during volleyballs inter-squad scrimmage.
Hinz connected on six of her nine attempts, good for a .667 hitting clip, while Clarey added four service aces to her stat line, three of which came in succession during the first set. Little hit .278 (7-for-18) and also had five digs.
Blue setters Emily Betteridge and Amanda Kullman combined for 23 assists, while Betteridge also added three kills and three digs.
The orange team was paced by junior captain Laura Homann who had 16 assists and sophomore Lindsay McCabe who contributed five kills, four digs and two blocks. Freshman Andrea Fisher finished with an orange team-high seven kills.
Syracuse opens the regular-season next Friday, Aug. 26th, as the Orange plays host to Sacred Heart in its first match of the Big Orange Tournament (7 p.m. – Women's Building). Saturday action will pair SU against Youngstown State at 12:30 p.m., and Siena at 7 p.m.
