
Greco and Murrell Named Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jacquie Greco (Buffalo, N.Y.) of the Orange ice hockey team and sophomore Jordan Murrell (Markham, Ontario) of the men's soccer team are the Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of November 19, 2012.Â
Greco has played in all 11 games this season, serving as one of three captains for the Orange. She has recorded two goals and one assist, including 14 shots on goal and six blocks.
She was a member of the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 as well as the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Athletic Director's Honor Roll at SU. She is majoring in health and fitness management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse.
Murrell has started all 19 matches for the Orange in 2012, recording two goals and tallying six assists, which is tied for seventh in the BIG EAST. The All-BIG EAST Third Team selection is a staple in the Orange's defensive unit that has shut out 12 of its 19 opponents this season, allowing just 14 goals on the year.
He was a member of the Spring 2012 Athletic Director's Honor Roll at SU and is presently undeclared in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
Greco and the women's ice hockey team will host RPI at home this weekend at Tennity Ice Pavilion, after returning from RIT on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y. Murrell and the rest of the men's soccer team will face #6 Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Championship.
