MIDFIELD PROVIDES PUNCH IN SEASON OPENER
The Syracuse midfield accounted for eight of the team's 12 goals in the Orange's season-opening win against Albany on Feb. 19 at the Carrier Dome. JoJo Marasco (three goals), Ryan Barber (two goals) Hakeem Lecky (one goal), Scott Loy (one goal) and Luke Cometti (one goal) combined for all eight of the Orange's goals in the first half. Overall, six SU middies recorded at least one point against the Great Danes.
MARASCO STREAKING
Junior JoJo Marasco has at least one point in each of SU's last nine games and 17 of the last 18 games since the start of 2011. The current streak started on April 12, 2011 when he passed out one assist in an 11-6 loss to Cornell. The only time over the past two seasons Marasco has been shut out was April 9, 2011 at Princeton.
In addition to his point streak, Marasco also has at least one goal in six consecutive games.
MEGILL NAMED TO BIG EAST HONOR ROLL
Orange junior defenseman Brian Megill was named to the first BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll of the 2012 season on Feb. 20 for his performance in SU's 12-7 season-opening win against Albany. Megill anchored an SU defense that shut out the Great Danes for 40:44 in the middle of the game. He also guarded Albany's Miles Thompson, the 2011 America East Rookie of the Year, and held him to just one assist on the afternoon. In addition, Megill collected three ground balls and tied his career high with five caused turnovers, one short of the Syracuse single-game record.

Syracuse has won 15 of the last 17 meetings dating back to 1984, including an 11-9 regular-season victory in 2011. The Orange is 9-2 against the Black Knights since the two programs began playing annually in 2002.
