COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Emily Harman improved her singles record to 4-1, but Syracuse (2-3) was defeated by No. 57 Ohio State (3-3) 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the OSU Tennis Center.
The Buckeyes won the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. SU's sole doubles victory was on court two as Maddie Kobelt and Aleah Marrow topped Haviland/Malley 8-5. Harman and Komal Safdar almost captured the doubles points for SU, but was narrowly defeated 9-7 on court one.
Harman defeated Kara Cecil in first singles 6-4, 6-7, 10-8, while Amanda Rodgers was the victorious on court six 7-5, 6-2. OSU, however, would win singles two through five for the 5-2 decision.
The Orange is back in action tomorrow morning at Cincinnati with first serve set for 11:00 a.m. Syracuse has never lost to the Bearcats in five matches.
