The Syracuse women's basketball team (15-9, 4-6 BIG EAST) puts its two-game winning streak on the line when the Orange hosts No. 2/2 Notre Dame on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange is coming off a big 76-61 victory against South Florida on Saturday, while the Fighting Irish topped rv/23 DePaul, 90-70 on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the 27th meeting all-time between Syracuse and Notre Dame with the Fighting Irish holding the edge, 24-2. The last time Syracuse defeated the Irish at home came during the 1988-89 season with a 63-56 win.
• Quentin Hillsman is 0-6 against the Fighting Irish.
• Notre Dame has won the previous 12 meetings against the Orange, including a 71-48 victory last season at Purcell Pavilion. Kayla Alexander led all scorers with 19 points against ND, which was ranked eighth in the nation at the time.
• Syracuse last defeated the Fighting Irish in 2001, when SU picked up a 84-79 win in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championship in Piscataway, N.J. Senior guard Jaime James scored 23 points to lead the seventh-seeded Orange past the No. 2 seed Irish.
SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
• Notre Dame enters the contest with a 23-1 record and is 10-0 in BIG EAST games. The Irish defeated DePaul 90-70 in their last game to extend their winning streak to 20 games. Senior guard Natalie Novosel scored a team-high 21 points.
• Notre Dame's only loss came at No. 1 Baylor (94-81) in November. They have victories against seven currently ranked teams, including Connecticut, Duke and Tennessee.
• The Irish's leading scorer is Preseason All-America guard Skylar Diggins (16.8). Diggins also leads the BIG EAST in assists (5.8). Novosel is Notre Dame's second leading scorer (15.2). She leads the BIG EAST in three-point field goal percentage (.455). Deveraux Peters, a Preseason All-America forward, averages 12.0 points and a team-leading 8.3 rebounds.
• The Irish play a high-octane style, leading the BIG EAST in scoring offense (83.6) and steals (14.0).
LAST TIME OUT
• Behind a 24-point performance by senior Iasia Hemingway, the Orange women's basketball team (15-9, 4-6) defeated USF (12-12, 4-6), 76-61, on Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.
• Junior tandem Kayla Alexander and Elashier Hall also scored in double figures, registering 17 and 14 points, respectively. Hemingway also tied her career-high with five assists. Sophomore Rachel Coffey matched her career-best with four steals.
• Syracuse was in control for the entirety of the game, never trailing and leading by as many as 33 with 12 minutes to go. The Orange also owned a 46-35 advantage on the boards.
• “That is what we have to do for the rest of the season,” Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman said. “We have to continue to play hard and be aggressive in the attack.”
HEMINGWAY HONORED BY CONFERENCE
• After she scored 24 points in each of Syracuse's wins last week, senior forward Iasia Hemingway was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday.
• On Tuesday against the Friars, Hemingway shot 69.2 percent from the floor (9-of-13) in addition to grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists. The Newark, N.J. native followed that up with a game-high 24 points to lead all scorers on 9-of-14 shooting and added five assists and five rebounds.
• Hemingway leads the Orange, and is fifth in the BIG EAST with 16.5 points per game, and is 15th in the conference with 6.6 rebounds per game. She has led SU in scoring in 11 of the team's 24 games this season, including 20 double-digit games.
DOMINATING THE GLASS
• Dominant rebounding has become the norm for the Orange in recent years. Syracuse is tied for second in the NCAA in rebounding with No. 1 Baylor, averaging 47.7 per game and ranks seventh in margin at +11.7 per game.
• In the BIG EAST, SU leads the conference in rebounds per game (47.7), offensive rebounds (21.3) and is second in rebounding margin (+11.7).
• SU has four of the top 20 rebounders in the league (9. Carmen Tyson-Thomas, 7.6; 10. Kayla Alexander, 7.3; 15. Iasia Hemingway, 6.6; and 17. Shakeya Leary, 6.5.
• Syracuse led the NCAA in rebounding margin last season at +13.4 per game. SU outrebounded 31 of its 35 opponents.
STRONG AT THE STRIPE
• An aggressive, attacking style of offense results in the Orange ranking second in the NCAA in free throws made (436) and fourth in free throws attempted (572).
• Syracuse is second the BIG EAST in free throw shooting percentage at .762 behind only Notre Dame (.763).
• Carmen Tyson-Thomas leads the Orange with a .885 mark from the free throw line this season (minimum 50).
• The Orange set a BIG EAST record for most free throws made without in a miss in a game at Providence (1/31) when it went 23-of-23.
• On Jan. 7 at Pitt, The Orange went 34-of-38 (.895) at the line, including Iasia Hemingway setting a school record with 15 free throws in 16 attempts.
ALEXANDER CONTROLS THE POST
• Junior center Kayla Alexander is the Orange's second-leading scorer (15.0 ppg.) and rebounder (7.3 rpg.) this season. She ranks ninth in the BIG EAST in scoring and 10th in rebounding, while leading the conference in blocked shots (63 total, 2.6 per game).
• Alexander has scored 1,265 points in 95 career games. The junior ranks 9th all-time at SU, 20 points behind eighth-place Beth Record (1998-01) at 1,285.
• Alexander scored a career-high 33 points against Binghamton on Nov. 26, giving her 1,008 points in her career. She becomes the 21st player in program history to score 1,000 points in her career and the first since Erica Morrow accomplished the feat in 2009-10.
• Alexander is third on Syracuse's career blocked shot list with 224, 10 behind Vaida Sipaviciute (2005-08) for second all-time at SU.
• Alexander is second on SU's career free throws made list at 357, and passed Erica Morrow (2008-11) with a 5-of-5 day against USF. She now trails Nicole Michael (2007-10) by 68 for the most in SU history.
HEMINGWAY SPARKS ORANGE
• Senior Iasia Hemingway has reached double figures in scoring in 20 of 24 games this season and reached the 30-point mark three times. She leads the team in scoring (16.5 ppg), ranking fifth in the BIG EAST, and averages 6.6 rebounds (15th in the BIG EAST).
• She scored a career-high 33 points, including a school-record 15 free throws in 16 attempts, in a win at Pitt (1/7).
• She set a then-career-high with 31 points to go along with 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season vs. Colgate on Dec. 31.
• Hemingway played the first two years of her career at Georgia Tech before transferring to SU. She has scored 1,443 points in her career, 818 of them wearing Orange.
TYSON-THOMAS MAKES IMPACT
• Junior Carmen Tyson-Thomas ranks third on the team in scoring (10.9 ppg.) and leads the club in rebounding (7.6 rpg) this season.
• She had a streak of three-straight double-doubles (12/29, 12/31, 1/3) and had scored in double figures in five-straight. She has five double-doubles on the season and 14 in her career.
• The versatile swing-player has set career-highs in scoring twice this season. Tyson-Thomas scored a career-high 21 points in SU's win against Lafayette. She improved on that performance in Syracuse's win against Buffalo, scoring a team-high 23 points. Since then she has posted 22 points against Ohio (12/20).
• She leads the team in free throw shooting percentage at .885 (46-52), ranks fourth in offensive rebounds per game (3.4), and ninth in total rebounds per game (7.6).
HALL DISPLAYS ALL-AROUND GAME
• Do-everything junior Elashier Hall has shown her versatility this season, averaging 8.2 points per game to go along with 5.0 rebounds per contest, all while leading the team with 70 assists and is second in steals (38).
• Hall had 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and hit a key 3-pointer in the final minute of SU's comeback win at Seton Hall (1/22).
• Hall led the Orange with 19 points against Oklahoma (12/19), going 11-of-13 from the free throw line.
LEARY CLEANING UP THE GLASS
• SU's key post presence off the bench, sophomore Shakeya Leary has posted double figures in rebounds in five contests this season. She led the Orange with 13 rebounds against Long Beach State. Leary also had 10 rebounds against Binghamton, 10 at Boise State (11/29) and 10 vs. Xavier (12/18).
• Leary scored a career-high 15 points in 19 minutes at Providence (1/31).
• Leary is averaging 6.5 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game. That equates to 15.0 rebounds per 40 minutes of action.
BULLARD COMING ON STRONG
• Sophomore wing Phylesha Bullard has become one of the Orange's key players off the bench in recent games. While averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game for the season, she has averaged 5.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per contest in SU's last four games.
• Bullard scored six points and grabbed five rebounds vs. No. 3 UConn (1/25), and then tied a career-high with eight points vs. Cincinnati (1/28) and set a new career-nest with seven rebounds.
