Softball Hits Diamond for Doubleheaders

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University softball team (24-9) is slated for a pair of midweek doubleheaders with games at Cornell on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. and home against Binghamton on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Jasmine Watson leads the Orange into the twin-bill at Cornell. Watson was honored for going 5-for-9 at the plate with a home run and five runs batted in against Seton Hall last weekend.
Jenna Caira was also recognized by the conference for tossing 16 strikeouts in 11 innings of work and picking up a pair of wins against the Pirates. Lisaira Daniels extended her streak to 18 games of reaching base safely, while Stacy Kuwik set new career-highs with 12 K's and eight innings pitched in game two of the series.
Cornell (16-13) is led by reigning Ivy League Freshman of the Week Linda Laeufer who has a team-best .320 batting average. The Orange leads the Big Red 12-8 in the all-time series and has won the last four contests.
Syracuse then returns to the SU softball Complex on Thursday to host the Bearcats (15-17). SU has won the last eight meetings against Binghamton and is 13-1 all-time against BU.
Fans will be able to watch a live broadcast of Thursday's game on Orange All Access.
