SU bests Lafayette in final exhibition

EASTON, Pa. - Syracuse field hockey received four goals from four different players on Tuesday as the Orange defeated Lafayette in its final scrimmage of the preseason. After three 20-minutes periods were played to a 1-1 draw, SU scored three goals in a 10-minute overtime period before the teams finished with a shootout practice.
Freshman Alyssa Manley scored Syracuse's first goal, while Leonie Geyer, Emma Russell and Lauren Brooks all added overtime tallies.
Ange Bradley's Orange opens the regular season on Friday at 1 p.m. at Monmouth before returning to Syracuse to host is home opener at J.S. Coyne Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Ohio.
