SYRACUSE, NY – The Syracuse volleyball squad is heading out on a 10-day, seven-game road trip, beginning with the Bluejay Invitational in Omaha, Neb., hosted by Creighton.

Syracuse is out to a 3-0 start in 2012, after capturing the Colgate Classic title last weekend with wins over Illinois-Chicago, Bryant and Colgate.

The Orange will kick off the weekend taking on tournament host, Creighton (3-0) at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 31, returning to face Denver (2-1) on Saturday, Sept.1at 10 a.m. and No. 21 Kansas State at 5:30 p.m. (3-0).

CAREER DAYS
Four Orange volleyball student-athletes saw career highs last weekend in the Colgate Classic. Syracuse will continue to look toward offensive leaders Nicolette Serratore (Oakville, Ontario) and Andrea Fisher (Burlington, Ontario), who led the team last weekend with 49 kills each. Serratore posted a career-high 21 kills against Illinois-Chicago.

Junior Samantha Clarey (Baltimore, Ontario) also contributed to the Orange offense last weekend with a career-high 18 kills and two solo blocks against Bryant.

Melina Violas (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) will help the Orange out defensively after a standout performance last weekend. Violas tallied a career-high 16 digs against Illinois-Chicago, matching the mark the next day against Colgate.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The Orange will continue their 10-day road trip with a match against Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., before heading to Ames, Iowa to compete in the Iowa State Tournament on Friday, Sept. 7.
