SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The two-time defending BIG EAST Champion Syracuse field hockey team began its quest for the 2012 National Championship this week as head coach Ange Bradley's squad began preseason camp.
Coming off a 19-4 season that saw it win its second straight conference title, advance to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament, and finish the season ranked No. 3 in the final NFHCA Coaches Poll, the Orange reported to campus on Tuesday for team meetings, compliance meetings and other adminstrative obligations.
Practice got underway on Wednesday at 8 a.m. as the 2012 team that features six seniors, including All-Americans Liz McInerney and Kelsey Millman, as well as eight freshmen took to the field at Coyne Stadium. The day also included meetings, lifting and scrimmaging in the evening.
