
Silvi Uattara finished sixth in the ACC with 3.60 kills per set this season

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Outside hitter Silvi Uattara rounded out her sophomore season by picking up Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Volleyball All-Star honors, as announced by the organization on Friday, Dec. 20.
Uattara, one of 14 players recognized, was placed on the Second Team. The two squads are comprised of student-athletes from a possible 88 institutions from 17 different conferences. The sophomore also earned spots on both the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I All-Region Honorable Mention team.
As SU's leading attacker this year, Uattara posted 3.60 kills per set which ranked sixth in the ACC. In league only play, that average rose to 3.92 kills per set, good for third highest. The 425 kills by Uattara during the 2013 campaign represented the 10th most in a single season at Syracuse. Additionally, the outside hitter finished second on the team in service aces (26) and hitting percentage (.278), and was third in digs per set (1.80).
In 24-of-31 matches this year, Uattara reached double-figure kills, including a streak of 13 consecutive contests. She wound up second on the squad with eight double-doubles during the campaign - three of them coming in the last four outings.
