The SU ice hockey team will host its Skate for the Cure weekend when it hosts No. 8/9 Mercyhurst in a battle for first place in the CHA. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15th and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16th at Tennity Ice Pavilion. SU is currently on an eight game winning streak after sweeping four-straight CHA opponents.Â

• In its annual Skate for the Cure weekend, the Orange will be selling Skate for the Cure t-shirts at the game as well as having a 50/50 raffle.
• SU will also be raffling off a jersey.
• All the proceeds will be donated to the Upstate Cancer Center.
• 'Skate for the Cure' is a conference-wide campaign designed to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. In the past six years, the CHA's campaign has raised over $65,000.

• Head coach Paul Flanagan is on the verge of his 300th career win.
• In his 14th season of coaching, and fifth at SU, Flanagan has a career record of 299-165-38.
• He will become just the fifth active coach to reach the milestone in his career.

•Only one point seperates Mercyhurst and SU in the CHA standings.
• SU is in second place and is 10 points ahead of third-place RIT and RMU, which guarentees the Orange a bye in the first round of the CHA tournament.Â

Weekend Recap
• SU recorded its fourth sweep and sixth of the season against RIT, defeating
the Tigers, 2-1 both nights.
• At RIT, the Orange skated away with a 2-1 victory. Akane Hosoyamada and Nicole Renault each scored in the triumph.
• The SU defense fought off a 6-on-3 situation in the final two minutes of the game to perserve its win.
• At SU the next night, the Orange recorded another 2-1 victory, with Hosoyamada scoring again and Margot Scharfe recording the game-winning goal.Â
• Kallie Billadeau was in net, notching 27 saves on Friday and 18 on Saturday.

• Three SU skaters have a team-high 22 points off of nine goals and 13 assists - Holly Carrie- Mattimoe, Nicole Ferrara and Melissa Piacentini. Â
•Piacentini was on a seven game point streak that dates back to on Jan. 12th at No. 7 Mercyhurst. In that streak, she scored four goals and four assists.
• Shiann Darkangelo has a team-high 13 goals for SU.
• The Orange have scored four shorthand goals so far this season, which leads the CHA
• Both Carrie-Mattimoe and Margot Scharfe have scored a team-high four power.play goals for SU.Â
• Goaltenders Kallie Billadeau and Jenesica Drinkwater have been strong in net for the Orange this season. Billadeau has a program-best six shutouts this season and eight in her career. The junior has a GAA of 1.35 and a save percentage of .947. She ranks fifth in the nation in GAA and third in save percentage. Drinkwater has two shutouts this season, while recording a GAA of 2.99 and a save percentage of .882.
