SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Over the coming weeks, Syracuse field hockey head coach Ange Bradley is announcing the program's 2013 signing class. Be sure to check back to SUAthletics.com as the Orange, fresh off its 2012 Final Four run, unveils its incoming class one-by-one.
Â
"I am happy to welcome the Class of 2017 to our great university and hockey family here at Syracuse," Bradley said. "They are the first generation of Syracuse Hockey in The ACC. This presents a tremendous opportunity as well as a responsibility to build upon our past. I am excited to see how this group prepares, unites and grows to compete in the best conference in the nation. I look forward to their arrival in August and I am very thrilled to have the opportunity to develop this talented group of student athletes and teach them the Syracuse way."

In today's installment, Bradley announces the signing of midfielder Sabrina Davis of Crownsville, Md. to a National Letter of Intent.
Davis finished her senior season at Archbishop Spalding High School with seven goals and seven assists, giving her a career total of 15 goals and 17 assists for 47 points. As captain, she led the Cavaliers to a 12-6 record in 2012. She was named Maryland All-State Second Team, despite missing part of the season with mononucleosis.
Â
"Everything that I was looking for came together at Syracuse - competitive and challenging academics, great campus, coaches and teammates that made me feel welcome and lots of school spirit," Davis said.
Â
Davis's other honors include being named All County-First Team by Capital Gazette, All-Metro Honorable Mention by the Washington Post, and Gladiator NFHCA High School Academic Squad.
Â
"Work-rate, determined and intelligent are the words I believe describe Sabrina's play," Bradley said. "Sabrina is a solid defender and I look for her to gain valuable experience in the backfield next year. I am pleased to have her join our Syracuse family."
Â
While playing for her club field hockey team, Spark, Davis brought home the championship at the Disney Showcase U16 in 2010. As an active member in USA Field Hockey's Futures program, she was an NFC selection three times, winning silver at Junior Olympics in 2011.
Â
"On the field she takes her play very seriously, always looking to improve and taking a leadership role, which has helped with the successes her teams have experienced," Spark head coach Lee Swinscoe said. "Sabrina is not a quitter, she will play hard to the end while pushing and supporting her teammates to do the same."
Â
A three-sport athlete participating in field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse Davis was named to the Brine All-American Team in 2011 for lacrosse. She also played club lacrosse.
Â
"Sabrina is the total package – on the field, in the classroom and in the community," Archbishop Spalding field hockey coach Leslee Brady said. "I have encountered few players with her talent and instincts. Relentless, quick, and highly skilled, Sabrina was a factor in every game scoring clutch goals and working back on defense to win key possessions. She always made an impact, especially in big games."
Â
A star in the classroom as well, Davis is a member of the National Honor Society, Liturgical Choir, Eucharistic Minister, Student Government, Chorale, and also the manager for the varsity men's swim team.
