SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Â Syracuse field hockey coach Ange Bradley has announced the addition of Sarah Kerly to the Orange's 2013 incoming class. From Kent, England, the forward is enrolled as a graduate student at SU this fall.
Â
A graduate of Kent College where she played on the first team (varsity) from the age of 13, Kerly played club hockey for the Canterbury Ladies Hockey Club.
Â
"Sarah is a welcomed addition to our Syracuse family," Bradley said. "She is an experienced striker/midfielder and a feisty competitor. She possesses a fabulous ability to finish. Her maturity will help to balance our youth as we enter the ACC this season."
Â
Kerly played at the European Club Championship, placing second in Berlin as a 16-year old. She went to compete again, finishing fourth. She earned the Canterbury Most Promising Young Player award and the hockey prize at Kent College.Â
"I had heard about Ange and how fantastically she has coached the team," Kerly said. "The courses (at Syracuse) fit my interest perfectly and everyone is so happy to help with anything I have needed. Everyone has been so welcoming."
